Philosophia Scientiae, Tome 9 (2005) no. S2, pp. 61-79.

Carl Friedrich Hindenburg (1741-1808), founder of the “so-called Combinatorial School” (Eugen Netto), had been forgotten until recently. However, an article about him can be found in the Dictionary of Scientific Biography. The Combinatorial School was very successful in Germany - and there only - towards the end of the 18th century, but later fell into discredit.
